There will be free parking for MYS participants at Carroll College. Personal vehicles will stay at Carroll College while the MYS travels to Jackson and Missoula. You may also choose not to have a car for the week and be dropped off by family or friends.

Check in will be on the campus of Carroll College 12:00pm-1:15pm on July 27th. Register first at the MYS check-in table and then move into the dormitory. More specific location information will be available soon! Plan to arrive by 12:30pm to have plenty of time to settle in.

They will be stored in the main cabin of the coach buses. We will take extra care with the instruments, however, we recommend placing basses and cellos in sturdy covers/cases.

For those staying in Helena at your own home, transportation to and from the program is your responsibility. For those staying at Carroll College, the rehearsal location is very accessible on campus. MYS will provide transportation to and from Jackson, WY and Missoula, MT.

The coach buses will transport the orchestra back to Helena after the Missoula concert. Musicians from Missoula are highly encouraged to be dropped off in Helena at the beginning of the week. Musicians living more than two hours from Helena may be provided lodging in Helena for the night of Sunday August 2nd upon request. You may also depart with family directly from the Missoula concert.

A check for both the honorarium and travel reimbursement will be given to you at check-in on July 27th. Reimbursement for travel is based upon round-trip mileage from your hometown to Helena.

Division of the violins into firsts and seconds was completed using the submitted audition recordings. The seating order within sections follows the principles of the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra, where seating rotates and is determined by random assignment. Following the first sectional, MYS faculty and fellows will collaborate on a seating arrangement that distributes strength through each section. The goal is to have leadership from every seat, regardless of order.
